Kael Harrison

Lead Environment Artist and Scene Creation

Utah Valley University

Kael Harrison is the Environment Lead for Forensics V.I.U. (Virtual Investigation Unit), a virtual reality training simulation developed for the Forensics Department at his university. Collaborating closely with Lead Developer Darick Cochrane, Kael is responsible for the design, creation, and optimization of the simulation’s interactive environments. His work focuses on achieving a high level of visual fidelity and spatial accuracy to ensure that students experience realistic, educationally effective virtual crime scenes.

Kael’s academic interests include 3D environmental modeling, immersive design, and the application of visual realism to enhance learning outcomes in extended reality (XR) environments. Through Forensics V.I.U., he explores how environmental design choices influence user engagement, retention, and procedural accuracy in simulated learning contexts. His contributions emphasize the importance of environmental storytelling and technical precision in building effective educational simulations for applied sciences.
