This presentation details a case study focusing on the challenges and methodology of bullet path reconstruction in a vehicle, integrating two separate three-dimensional (3D) laser scans.


The data set was obtained on-scene to accurately document the vehicle's position, damage, and overall context before any alteration or movement. The vehicle was then transported to a secondary, controlled location where a second 3D data set was obtained with trajectory rods inserted into the bullet holes.


This method mitigates common reconstruction obstacles by providing two key datasets:
