Tom "Grif" Griffin

Forensic Consultant

Bevel, Gardner & Associates

Tom “Grif” Griffin’s interest in forensics and crime scene investigation began in his pre-teen years with reading and television. That interest formally took off while he was in a chemistry doctorate program which led to designing and teaching a class in forensic chemistry. Grif then went from graduate school to being hired as a criminalist and crime scene investigator for the Greeley Police Department in Greeley, Colorado. After four years at that job, he was hired by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to work in its headquarters in Denver where he did forensic chemistry, bloodstain pattern analysis, and crime scene investigation and reconstruction. After 27 years, he formally retired from CBI in late 2009 after becoming a partner in Bevel, Gardner & Associates and created his own company, Griffin Forensic Solutions & Consulting. He is the senior partner in BGA and continues teaching classes in BPA, CSR, CSI and working cases.
