Todd Petrick

Omaha Police Department - Forensic Investigations Unit

Todd Petrick began his career with the Omaha Police Department in January 1997 and retired in August 2025 after more than 28 years in the Forensic Investigations Unit. He continues to serve part-time as a  Quality Assurance Supervisor in the unit, where his focus is maintaining technical rigor, consistency, and compliance across forensic workflows.


Todd played a key role in guiding the Forensic Investigations Unit through its initial ANAB/ISO 17020 accreditation in 2017 and remains responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance. The unit’s accredited scope includes Crime Scene Investigation—specifically forensic mapping—as well as Latent Print Examination and Firearms Examination. His work has been closely tied to the integration of geodetically controlled measurements, forensic mapping, 3D documentation, and video analysis in complex investigations.
