Ken Jones

Ken Jones is a retired criminalist from the Portland Police Bureau with 26 years of law enforcement experience, including 20 years in the Forensic Evidence Division. Since retiring in 2015, he has spent the past decade developing and delivering forensic reality-capture and 3D laser scanning training for law enforcement agencies across North America as a forensic training specialist with Leica Geosystems.


He holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Portland State University and has served as an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Portland Community College since 2012, specializing in forensic photography instruction. His expertise includes bloodstain pattern analysis, crime scene reconstruction, forensic photography, latent fingerprint development and comparison, and advanced scene documentation using 3D reality-capture technologies.
