Kaj O'Mara

Kaj O’Mara is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) with over sixteen years of operational meteorology experience. As an Emmy Award-winning Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), he delivered critical severe weather coverage to more than one million residents in eastern Iowa. His insights were widely trusted by the agricultural and transportation sectors, as well as schools, universities, and sports organizations.

Kaj served as a National Weather Service Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, supporting emergency management and preparedness across municipalities and school districts. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society’s Board of Certified Consulting Meteorologists, helping uphold rigorous standards for certification, and also belongs to the Association of Certified Meteorologists.

Now Assistant Chief Meteorologist at J.S. Held, Kaj provides expert meteorological analysis to clients in the legal and insurance industries nationwide.
