Erika Harden

Crime Laboratory Technician II

Erika Harden has been with Baltimore City within the Crime Scene Unit since July of 2016 as a Crime Laboratory Technician II (CLTII). She has fulfilled many roles since then, including Squad Leader, Firearms Inventory Technician, and 3D data Technical Leader. She is an IAI Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst and has obtained her Basic Laser Scanning Certification. As Technical Leader, she has completed multiple validation studies and implemented training and operating procedures within the Crime Scene Unit.


CLT Harden is also a Certified Part 107 Remote Pilot for the commercial operation of sUAS technology within the department. The technology is used to capture aerial photography of crime scenes, as well as create 2D models and 3D maps. The current goal is to implement the integration of terrestrial 3D technologies with 2D and 3D mapping and modeling products from sUAS deployment. On her off time, CLT Harden is an adjunct professor at her alma matter, Stevenson University. She teaches Crime Scene Investigation and Physical Evidence at Crime Scenes within the Forensic Science Master’s Program.
