SketchUp Crime Scenes

Joshua Cohen of Fat Pencil Studio will explain the benefits of using visual tools in the early stages of crime scene investigations, and share some details about their workflow for creating these 3d models in Trimble SketchUp using photos, video, and/or point cloud data.

Chris Lutes of Trimble Forensics will demonstrate how the Scan Essentials plug-in can be used to bring point cloud data directly into SketchUp to streamline the process of taking measurements, positioning objects, and even projecting images directly of the 3d surfaces of your model.

Attendees that have a license or a free trial of SketchUp Pro (desktop version) can follow the training on their own computers and ask questions as we go. Details regarding the software will be sent out a few days before the conference. It's also fine to attend without having the software, and treat the workshop as a demonstration.
